Commenting on what she believes are the coolest streets in London, Caroline Takla, Managing Partner of leading London property consultancy The Collection LLP said:
– Mount Street, Mayfair, is becoming ‘the luxury London address’. It has everything for a property buyer, is opposite The Connaught and has secret gardens behind the buildings that are not very well known. It has a ‘village’ feel, which is very rare to find in London, with its period facades. Yet Mount Street also has very high-end retailers such as Christian Louboutin and Jenny Packham, as well as private member clubs. There is also an annual street party which reinforces a community spirit – again a rarity in London.
– Portobello Road is also one of my favourites because of the different colours of the exteriors of the houses, and the market that sells everything from antiques to fashion. It is a street rapidly rising to the top of the ‘property wish list’.
– St. Christopher’s Place, meanwhile, has a combination of cute outdoor restaurants, which have a very European feel and vibe, particularly in summer. It is a street that, if you didn’t know it was there, you would literally walk straight past it’s entrance and totally miss it.
– Lancashire Court has beautiful narrow cobbled streets and is almost tucked away in the heart of Mayfair. It is very magical all year around for outdoor entertainment.
